Do I need to be at home when you deliver and setup?
Nope! As long as we can gain easy access to the area that you have specified for your setup, you don’t need to be home at the time!
Do you charge separately for tax and delivery?
No. We have already factored both into your package price!
Can you deliver my pumpkins earlier in September?
Feel free to email us at [email protected] with as much advance notice as you can. We are at the mercy of the weather, growing conditions and availability at the wholesale farms we work with in terms of when we are able to get our hands on beautiful, healthy pumpkins. Additionally, high Sept heat is not optimal conditions for pumpkins sitting outside. We want you to be able to enjoy your pumpkins for weeks, so we prefer to wait until late Sept, at the earliest. However, if you need pumpkins earlier for a special event, reach out and we’ll do our very best to help you!
Do you work with non-residential customers?
Of course! For a custom package, please reach out with as much notice as possible and we’ll be happy to work with you on a non-residential design. (We love doing neighborhood entrances!)
If I add on the return removal option, what do you do with the old, rotted pumpkins at the end of the season?
We give them to nearby farms that we partner with. The farmers are very happy to use them for key farm needs like composting, animal feed, green manure and wildlife food.
Can I cancel my order?
All sales are final once orders are placed.
Can I change my delivery week, or specify a specific delivery date after I place my order?
There are A LOT of logistics involved in delivering thousands of pumpkins all across Charlotte! Our process involves sorting and batching all deliveries for a given week by delivery area. This helps ensure we aren’t driving across Charlotte day in and day out. (More time to do what we love, decorating your front door!).
If you are having a special event, and need your delivery by that date, we recommend selecting the week before. If that isn’t possible, or if you want to change your delivery week after your order has been placed, please email us with as much advance notice as you can, and we will try to accommodate you, if at all possible!

If my package contains 1 or more potted mums, what size can I expect the mums to be when I receive them?
We will deliberately deliver smaller nursery potted mums. The big, beautiful, fully open mums that you may see around are already at their prime; there’s nowhere to go from there but DOWN! Since we want you to be able to enjoy your mum for as long as possible, we’ll deliver a healthy plant with some or all buds still closed. See our tips for watering below, and Enjoy until frost!
What tips do you have on keeping my mum(s) alive and looking beautiful?
Re-pot your mum into a slightly larger container (with drainage holes), if desired. Mums like moist, but well drained soil. Place your mum in a saucer just larger than the pot you’ll be leaving your mum in for the season. Direct your watering into the saucer, and the plant will pull up only the water it needs, and nothing more! Potted mums do not need fertilizer.
Will you replace my pumpkins if they rot before Thanksgiving, or my mum if it dies before the first frost?
No. Unfortunately, there are too many factors at play once our fresh pumpkins and healthy mums are delivered to your home for us to be able to offer a guarantee. Mums are a bit sensitive to over and under watering, so you’ll want to follow our tips to ensure your mum lasts throughout the season! For pumpkins, keeping them dry is important! That’s why we prefer to always set up on concrete or stone, and not in grass!
Do you decorate with cornstalks, Indian corn or other decorations? If I leave these items out for you, will you incorporate them into my porch design?
No. At Pretty Porch Pumpkins, we focus on bringing you beautiful pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes. Certain packages contain hay bales for added height, and all of our packages include at least one potted mum. See package descriptions for a detailed list of what’s included in each package. We use only these components to decorate for you!
Do you wash down the pumpkins or spray them with anything?
We do not. Pumpkins are a natural product grown in fields. Just as washing your produce before you want to eat it reduces longevity, the same applies to pumpkins. We prefer the just-from-the-farm approach in our designs!
